Welcome to a.o.k. or "okay with Andrea"!

If this is your first time here, I'm glad you stopped by.

What is a.o.k.? Who am I? Well... you can find or more about me by clicking here. As for a.o.k.... it is the blog that I started as a personal project in July 2009. It is an outlet for me. A place to write about whatever I feel like writing about... a place to share my girl/mom experiences. It's also an excuse for me to try new recipes (see my ongoing series a.o.k. "trial" gourmet) on a regular basis... and a way for me to share some of my favorite pictures in "wordless wednesday" posts.

From a.o.k. and the connections I made in social media outlets like facebook and twitter I fell upon the story of a little girl who struggled and lost her fight to childhood cancer - that story moved me so much that I am now in the process of fundraising for the 5th edition of the Make-A-Wish Foundation's "Summit for Wishes" - an incredible project which will lead me right to the summit of Kilimanjaro (one of the highest mountains in the world) while I raise enough money to make a child's wish come true.
